Sarah crouched beneath a bush, trying to keep her fur dry. She thought about how warriors had to get wet, but decided it was best to stay in shelter of the large bush. But, somehow a few drops of cold rain water dripped on her nose and tickled her whiskers. But the rain fell harder. So, she crawled under the steps that led from the sliding door to the garden. It was warm froma thing that heated the house and dry, even though it was storming. She had dug a hole near the back of the steps, so she could fit in there easier. She looked through the hole, into the garden. The flowers were getting pounded down by the rain, but her folk's herb garden was in something called a greenhouse, so it was safe from the chill and rain. She sighed and set her head on her paws. The grass drooped from the weight of the water. And the trees above her swayed in the strong winds. But yet she felt at peace and comfortable. Lately she had been traveling to the forest across the larger road and meeting wih a cat named Ravenwing. She didn't know what it was about him, but something felt odd. He wasn't as aggressive as the other wild cats. He was... sort of nice. If a "cat from the 'dark side'" could be that way. Sudenly, a twig snapped behind her. She bolted out of the bush, hoping she could practice hunting. But instead of some mouse, there stood a light tabby she-cat with a sick looking Black and white smudge cat. A gasp escaped from her mouth when she saw a little gray she-cat carrying two new-born kits, but two were curled by her paws. She ignored the two adults and rushed over to the kits. "You should be holding them!" She picked up the two kits and said through a mouthful of fur. "They're too weak to have to walk!" She quickly set the kits down under a thorn bush in the corner of her garden and beconed the little gray one to set the other two down. "And I assume this is the mother." She pointed to the smudged cat with her tail. "Well, get her over here!" The tabby helped the smudged cat into the makeshift nest while Sarah made sure she was nursing her kits comfortably before turning to the other two cats. "Now, what seems to be the problem?" The light tabby explained why they were there and asked if they could stay. The gray she-cat mumbled something but the tabby glared at her and shot an almost silent retort while flicking her muzzle with the tip of her tail, affectionatly. "So," Sarah treid to recall all of the story. It was so...facinating. "this she-cat, here, had four kits with anyone knowing?" The tabby nodded. "Now, you want me to let you and any other cat who needs to stay...stay here?" Sarah asked The tabby lowered her head and nodded. "Of course, you can stay!" The cats looked surprised. "My twolegs will be evcuated from their house, excuse me, nest, and if I stay out of veiw, they'll leave my door open. Then, I can let any of you in.. My folks, twolegs, have a large nest for me to lay on. It's heated and comfortable. It's perfect for...um, Snowshadow and her kits to rest. As well as the couch. It's like a huge nest." The tabby spoke up. "But what if your twolegs come back before we leave?" They're going far out of town for at least 5 moons. They were going to take me with them, but I will not show up, they'll have some child taking care of the nest while they're gone. There'll always be food and water. For as long as you'll be here." The tabby nodded. "Thank you, but we'll only be around until the flood stops. Cinderpaw, help me gather the herbs while Sarah gets Snowshadow and her kits settled." The two cat set off.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- When the two cats came up upon the camp entrance, they saw it was almost completely flooded except for the medicine den. She turned to Cinderpaw, who was looking a little scared, though she hid it very well. They saw the clan frantically splashing around in the water calling her's, Cinderpaw's, and Snowshadow's names. But, when Sparrowheart saw them them, he yowled with joy. "They're okay!" Darkmoon yowled. "But, where's Snowshadow?" Flowercloud looked at Cinderpaw to explain.

I glanced at Flowercloud, who obviously wanted me to explain, and mewed, in one long breath, "Snowshadow had her kits, and Flowercloud told Snowshadow to go to the nursery, and then I came and helped Flowercloud take the kits to the nursery, but half the nursery floor was gone, and Snowshadow was looking really weak, so Flowercloud told me to carry the kits while she helped Snowshadow get to a kittypet's nest, and so we took everyone there and now Snowshadow and her kits are sheltering there in twoleg nest" I took a long, rattling breath and tried to read Sparrowfeather's expression, but he just looked bewildered.

"Go check on Twokit, once your done." She ordered Cinderpaw in a friendly tone. Flowercloud left Cinderpaw to explain once again to Darkmoon and Sparrowheart.

"Sarah!" Snowshadow could hear Sarah's twolegs call to her. She wondered if she would have to stay with Sarah for long. The Clan was probably searching for her, Cinderpaw, and Flowercloud. Thank StarClan Cinderpaw had showed up. With out her, she would be in the flooded nursery and her kits would be dead. She looked down at the four fluff balls tucked close to her belly. They had finished eating and were sleeping peacefully. She tucked them closer and lay her head down trying to get rest so she could carry her own kits into the twoleg nest. ___________________________________________________
It was rushing in around me, surrounding me in a wall of white, foaming water. I tried to find a way out but all I could see was water. And then it stood still. I thought maybe I was safe. But as I was getting comfortable the wall fell down on me, crushing my insides and beating me against rocks. Twokit's eyes bolted open only to see the weak sun that filtered out through the rain. She gave her chest a couple swift licks and stretched her legs, one at a time. She took a deep breath and stepped out of the den. He eyes widened as she looked at the camp being slowly taken over by water. Was this what her dream was supposed to warn her about? Questions buzzed in her head as she looked around at the floooded camp. But just then a line of light flashed two fox lengths away hfrom her nose. It gave her an odd buzzing feeling. She fled to the back of the den, all of her hairs standing on end.

Brightstar listened intently to what Cinderpaw was saying. she asked an ocational question, which was always answered. But, before Cinderpaw could finish explaining the third time. A cat stepped into the camp and oddly the water began to drain away and the rain stopped falling. A brown, black, and white calico she-cat stood there. "Silverstar." Brightstar hissed stepping foreward, her warriors following her. The strong cat dipped her head and egan to explain in a hushed voice. "A queed in my Clan is about to kit, and with out a medicine cat in our Clan, she may die. I have come to ask for your help." Brightstar nodded, knowing how to handle it.
Eaglepaw flew out of the warrriors den when he saw Cinderpaw. He ran to her side. Letting his pelt touch her's. Brightstar looked at her. "I need you to go to the ShadowClan camp and help one of their queens give birth. She Needs a medicine cat and I think your ready. Even if I'm not a medicine cat. " Eaglepaw flicked her nose with his tail. "You'll be great, I know it.

I glanced up at Brightstar in shock. She wanted me to help another clan's queen give birth?! I had barely begun my training. I looked at the certainty in Brightstar and Eaglepaw's eyes, took a deep breath, and shook my head. "I'll be right back, I need to go get the herbs I'll need." I muttered and ran off, almost colliding into Flowercloud. I explained what was going on, and then raced off to the stock, where I pulled out borage and watermint, just as I was trying to think of what else I might need, Flowercloud showed up behind me.

"I know you'll be great. I know it." Flowercloud licked Cinderpaw's head, hoping to calm her obvious nervousness. "Don't worry. The Clan needs me, here but ShadowClan don't have a medicine cat, you'll be doing a good thing for all of us." "You might want to take some stengthening herbs too." Flowercloud turned around to see Eaglepaw. "And maybe some poppy seed. I don't now if it would help, but it might come in handy." "They might, good suggestion Eaglepaw." Flowercloud mewed.

"Thanks," I muttered to Flowercloud and Eaglepaw, before turning to grab the poppy seeds and strengthening herbs. I wrapped all four groups with leaves and picked up the bundles. Then I headed out of the medicine den and into into the main clearing, where Silverstar was waiting. I padded after him out the main tunnel.

ooc:// Silverstar is a she-cat.
Silverstar led Cinderpaw out of the entrance and through dense undergrowth. It made her trip and stumble. She finally saw the thunderpath and let out a silent sigh. She looked through the hedges and scented the air. The reek of twoleg monster didn't make itself know, and there was no noise so she bolted across the path. with the young medicine cat following her. She let her paw sink into the muddy floor and quickly began running towards her camp, the little ThunderClan cat following her, sinking a little in the muddy forest floor. She came upon a wall of thorns with a little gap in which the ShadowClan cats enter. Silverstar squeezed through the gap, th thorns barely tugging at her various colored fur. Her shining silver eyes were the only thing that had earned her the Silver part of her name. "There's the nursey." Silverstar pointed to the little cave like shelter that housed her Clan's one queen. "Go on in, moonflower will be waiting. "
The silver queen watched as a little grey she-cat padded into the nursery.

I nervously padded into the nursery, still slightly expecting to be challenged by an angry ShadowClan warrior. A silver queen, obviously close to birth, was watching me as I padded into the nursery. I assumed this was Moonflower and stepped over to her side, which was having with effort. I unwrapped the herb bundles, mixed together the strengthening herbs, adding a bit of watermint, and laid them in front of Moonstar. "Eat as much as you can." I murmered gently. The queen turned her head and started chewing up the herbs. When they were all gone, she rolled back over on to her side, her stomach started twitching, and I knew the kits were coming. "That's it, you're doing great," I mewed as a small head appeared. "Just keep pushing, it will be over soon." The kit's shoulders and chest appeared, and finally, the whole kit. I gently picked it up and set it down next to Moonflower, who turned weakly and started licking her kit. I turned back to see a problem, one of the kits head it's head turned around sideways, and this was making it too large to fit out the hole. At first I just stared in shock, utterly stupefied. I came to my senses and held out a delicate paw. Ever so gently, I worked my paw up to the side of the kit's head. I worked my paw softly to the side, and slowly, the kit's head turned, slowly it began to squeeze itself out, and it finally came out, very still, only a faint rise and fall of it's chest symbolizing it was still alive. I knew there was a limit to the amount of time a kit could survive like that. I licked the kit vigorously, and when her breathing steadied, I laid her down next to her mother, who immediately began licking.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Was it already decided how many kits she's gonna have?? If so, how many, and what gender?

Flowercloud pelted through the big garden to where Sarah was moving Snowshadow into her toleg's nest. "Sarah!" The White cat looked back. "Snowshadow and her kits can come back to camp. We've fixed up the nursery. She and her kits will be fine." "Okay. Do you want me to come?" Sarah asked. "PLease. We need all of the help we can get."

"Okay, Moonflower, you're doing great, just a few more, keep licking those kits, don't let them get cold, especially the little gray one." I murmered, then turned back as the next kit started coming. The next three kits were delivered with no problems, but by the end, Moonflower looked exhausted, and I could tell the constant licking was tiring her out. I padded up, snuggled the four healthiest kits into their mother's side, then I laid the borage leaves in front of Moonflower. "Eat these," I mewed. "they'll help your milk supply, five kits is a huge litter for just one cat. If you can't sleep, I can give you some poppy seeds, but it will be better for the kits if you can manage without it" Moonflower looked up at me and muttered, "I can do without it." Then she bent her head to lap up the boage leaves while I continued to lick the little gray kit, the one that had had problems in the delivery. When she finally seemed strong enough, I laid her down with her brothers and sisters and padded out to meet Silverstar, with Moonflower calling out a thanks as I left. I dipped my head respectfully to Silerstar and announced, "Moonflower will be fine, she has five healthy kits, three toms and two she-cats. The second kit had a difficulty coming out, but I got her turned around, and all six should be perfectly healthy, they just need food and rest. I've left a supply of borage leaves, make sure Moonflower eats them, as they will help her milk supply." Silverstar looked at me gratefully and thanked me, and just before I had padded out of the camp, she called me back. Wiat, I shall give you an escort home." And with a flick of her tail, she summoned a she-cat who I definately would not want to get in a fight with. "Make sure you tell your mentor how well you did." Silverstar reminded me as the she-cat followed me out the tunnel and through the forest back to Thunderclan territory.

Eaglepaw licked his paw a few times before turning to Flowercloud. "Thanks for helping." The she-cat mewed. Eaglepaw bowed his head. "It was my pleasure." Flowercloud caught his eye. "Do you have anything you want to share?" "Er," Eaglepaw heistated. Flowercloud glared at him. "You seem quite fond of Cinderpaw. You've been clinging to her side like a tick. What's going on?" Eaglepaw lifted his head high and tried to hide his unease. "Well, she is a really good freind." "I venture to ask how good of a friend she is." Her voice was losing its calmness and her pelt began to bristle. Eaglepaw was silent. He knew Flowercloud would never approve of how he felt about Cinderpaw. "Good." "Oh no." Flowercloud's eyes widened with realization. "Oh no, You lover her!" Rage churned in his belly. "So what if I do! There's nothing in the Warrior Code that says we can't be together. It says that we must remain loyal to our Clan. I'm still one hundred percent loyal!" Flowercloud's muscles tensed for a fight but she only crept closer to him. "You must not go near her. She's a medicine cat apprentice, you're an apprentice. You can't be together, and that's that!" A grey cat behind Flowercloud was the only thing that kept Eaglepaw from turning on the medicine cat with tooth and claw. "Cinderpaw!"

I padded into the medicine den, exhausted, but stopped short when I saw Flowercloud and Eaglepaw glaring at each other, their fur bristling. When Flowercloud saw me, she immediately sheathed her claws, and I saw Eaglepaw let his fur lie flat. "Er, am I intruding on something?" I asked tensely.

"Well," Flowercloud began, but before she could speak, Eaglepaw cut in. "It's nothing." He advanced toward Cinderpaw. "Er, do you want to go hunting? We probably have time to catch a couple peices of good, plump prey before the sun sets."

I flinched at the stern look Flowercloud gave me over Eaglepaw's shoulder and meowed, "Thanks for the offer, but I'm exhausted, I think I'll just go straight to bed." Eaglepaw looked a bit hurt, but he nodded and padded out the fern tunnel. I turned to Flowercloud, What was that about?"

"Looks like you have an admirer." Flowercloud replied simply and stalked off to her den to get a good nights sleep.

Eaglepaw padded through the darkening forest, thinking about what Flowercloud had said. He couldn't spend the rest of his life pretending he didn't feel something for Cinderpaw. He just hoped she liked him back. He would be crushed if it ended up that Cinderpaw just liked him as a friend. She sighed and settled down by the stream. He bent his head down and lapped up some water, letting it cool him down. Then, there was a rustling in the bushes. He opened his mouth to try and detect what had made the sound. It smelled like a mouse was nearby. He dropped into a hunters crouch and listened carefully. He could hear little teeth chomping down on a nut. He crept forward letting each paw fall silently on the forest floor. In moments he could see it hideing behind a tree root. He crept forward a little more and leapt, breaking its neck with one of his huge paws. He scraped some earth over it, deciding to hunt some more before returning to camp.
