(I'm using my "Secrets of the Clans" book for accuracy)
Eaglefrost sat with his tail curled over his big paws and waited for Lightningpaw's full attention before he continued. "Okay, we'll start out the the easiest of all, the leap-and-hold." He stopped and leapt onto a nearby log to demonstrate. "All you have to do is leap onto your opponent's back and grip with unsheathed claws to his or her fur, this will allow you to inflict severe body wounds. But, be careful. Sometimes, they will use the drop-and-roll counter move. They will simply fall down and roll their big fat bodies on top of you. In this case, just jump off as fast as you can. And try to rake his belly while you're at it." He jumped off of the log and crouched down. "Now, try it on me, but keep your claws sheathed!"

Lightningpaw jumped, aiming for Eaglefrost's back. She hoped that for once she'd hit her target.

Eaglefrost slid to the side, causing Lighningpaw to roll past him. "Try again. This time, quicken up your leap a bit and hold on with your paw pads." He advised her.

Lighningpaw pouted, but jumped again, listening to Eaglefrost's advice, jumping faster.

This time, she fell squared on his back and squeaked a bit. her paws held on hard to his back as she excitedly nipped. It was time to test her. He slammed down on his side, and began to roll. (you can decide whether or not she leapt off in time...)

Lightningpaw, remembering what Eaglefrost had told her earlier, attempted to jump off, but was caught underneath him.

Eaglefrost kept most of his weight off on Lightningpaw as he rolled back up onto his paws. "Good. Rest and then try it again."

Lightningpaw sat up, licking her paw and running it over her face. She was happy she'd finally done something right.
